2010 - Congratulations

Congratulations!  CAPA/LDC 93 Black competed in the Premier Elite Group at the Ultimate Spring Kick Off Showcase Tournament February 26-27, 2011 in Long Island, New York.  CAPA defeated Bridgeport AYSO Premier Jogo Bonito (CT State champions) in their first game by a score of 3-2.  They went on to overpower the Valley Stream Forest (NYE) team by a score of 2-0 under the lights that evening. The win placed them in the semi-final match early Sunday morning where they faced NYE state champions Auburndale Aston Villa Flames. The game was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. After two ten minute overtime periods, there were two exhausted teams and no clear winner so the game moved to penalty kicks. Auburndale missed one pk and send two more off the posts allowing CAPA to prevail in pks. The boys faced NYE state semi finalist, Massapequa SC Rough Riders in the final where they prevailed by a score of 2-1. Participating players include: Luke Bunting, Alex Caplan, Cory Dohner, Nathan Hill, Andrew Kimmel, Tyler McFarland, Bryan Mullen, Jacob Oldaker, Spencer Petersheim, Austin Shott, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Drew Whittle and guest player Collin Watford. Congratulations!  CAPA/LDC 93 Black competed in the elite Super Group at the Massapequa College Showcase Tournament December 4-5, 2010 in Long Island, New York.  Despite the chilly temperatures and gusty wind, CAPA defeated Lake Grove Triangle Vipers (NYE) in their first game by a score of 3-1.  They went on to beat the Valley Stream Forest (NYE) team later that afternoon.  Going into Sunday's games they were in a tie for first place in their bracket with Beachside of CT (CT), but the boys played hard and defeated Beachside 1-0 earning them a spot in the semi-final.  Sunday afternoon, the boys faced Commack SC United (NYE) currently ranked 3rd nationally.  After a well fought, tough game CAPA defeated the elite Commack team by a score of 2-1, earning them a place in the championship match.  With only one sub, the boys fought gallantly against the MC ISA Cruzers (NYE) but lost by one pk with just seconds left in regular time.   Participating players include: Luke Bunting, Alex Caplan, Cory Dohner, Lucas Goodrow, Nathan Hill, Andrew Kimmel, Bryan Mullen, Spencer Petersheim, Greg Rubbo, Austin Shott, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Hunter Wenklar, and Drew Whittle.  Congratulations! CAPA/LDC 93 Black competed in the UK Elite Bloomsburg Boys College Showcase May 22-23, 2010.  CAPA overpowered FC Revolution (PAE) in their first game by a score of 4-0.  In the second game Saturday, the boys faced a tough Spirit United Strikers (PAE) team but came out on top with a final score of 1-0.  Sunday morning, the boys defeated NJ Rangers FC (NJ) by a final score of 2-0.   Participating players include: Luke Bunting, Alex Caplan, Joey Funck, Lucas Goodrow, Nathan Hill, Jacob Oldaker, Bryan Mullen, Greg Rubbo, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Drew Whittle, John Zeigler and Collin Watford. Congratulations! to the CASA Magic for being a finalist for the Eastern Pennsylvania Invitational Cup (EPIC). During a windy weekend, the Magic faced some of Philadelphia's toughest teams in the Championship bracket fo the  EPIC tournament.  The Magic won versus a good Hulmville team 4 - 2 in the opening game of the tournament.  In their second game the Magic tied a tough Lower Merion team 2 - 2.  The Magic were then seated as a number 2 seed in their bracket to face the number one seeded West Chester team in teh semi-final.  In a heart pounding semi-final game, the Magic came back from a 2 -1 deficit with 5 minutes left in the game to score 2 goals.  With the victory, the Magic secured a place in the finals.  In the championship game, the Magic lost to FC Revolution 3 -1 in a hard fought game.  Magic players participating in the tournament were Lily Armbruster, Aleah Zerance, Jillian Johnson, Katherine Frankford, Arianna Casey, Alexa Romanchock, Alyssa Mayberry, Cami Karnash, Alexa Schwab, Josie Stakem, Nicole Augustine, and Jenna Shoop.  Sabrina Richmond was a guest player for the tournament. for the Eastern Pennsylvania Invitational Cup (EPIC). During a windy weekend, the Magic faced some of Philadelphia toughest teams in the Championship bracket of the EPIC tournament.

Congratulations!  CAPA/LDC 93 Black earned first place in Region 1 Colonial League West division this spring with 6 wins and 1 loss for a total of 19 goals for and only 5 against.  Earning first place gives them the opportunity to play the winner of the East division, Vista RFC.  The winner of the championship game will earn a spot in next year's Region 1 Premier League. Participating players include: Luke Bunting, Alex Caplan, Cory Dohner, Joey Funck, Lucas Goodrow, Nathan Hill, Andrew Kimmel, Reed Kimmel, Tyler McFarland, Jacob Oldaker, Bryan Mullen, Spencer Petersheim, Greg Rubbo, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Hunter Wenklar, and Drew Whittle. Congratulations!  CAPA/LDC 93 Black competed in the inaugural Annandale Alliance Cup March 12-14, 2010.  Despite the wind and rain, CAPA defeated Baltimore Bays Blue (MD) in their first game Friday night.  On Saturday, the boys overpowered South Central Premier Magic (CT) by a score of 3-0.  Sunday morning, the boys defeated Lehigh Valley United 93 (PAE) in the semi final 5-0 to earn them a spot in the championship. Late Sunday afternoon the team braved the rain and cold one final time to defeat SDFC 09 Bulldogs (NJ) in the championship.  Participating players include: Luke Bunting, Alex Caplan, Cory Dohner, Joey Funck, Lucas Goodrow, Nathan Hill, Tyler McFarland, Jacob Oldaker, Bryan Mullen, Spencer Petersheim, Greg Rubbo, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, and Drew Whittle. Congratulations to Joseph Mauck on being selected as a EPYSA Union League Good Citizenship Award Winner.  Joseph was one of fifteen (15) EPYSA awardees.  He will attend the EPYSA Annual General Meeting luncheon on March 7, and the Union League of Philadelphia Good Citizen Award Day, on May 12.  Joseph is a member of the CASA-CAPA U-17 Boys team.

Congratulations!  CAPA/LDC 93 Black competed in EPYSA indoor Cup (Level A) at Wyoming Valley Sports Dome Saturday, January 30, 2010.  The boys captured first in their division by defeating Harleysville (6-1), Hulmeville Rowdies (6-0) and Lehigh Valley United (5-2).  They faced Spirit United Strikers in the quarter finals but over powered them by a score of 6-1.  They faced a rival ACFC Manchester United team in the semi final but got their revenge by a score of 5-2.  In the championship game, CAPA faced HMMS Eagles in a tough, back and forth game.  The score was tied 4 to 4 at the end of regulation.  The tense, five minute sudden death overtime still did not result in any score, so the game was decided on Pks.  After 7 PK's, CAPA ultimately succumbed to HMMS.  Participating players include: Alex Caplan, Cory Dohner, Joey Funck, Lucas Goodrow, Nathan Hill, Andrew Kimmel, Reed Kimmel, Tyler McFarland, Jacob Oldaker, Bryan Mullen, Greg Rubbo, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Hunter Wenklar and Drew Whittle. 2009 - Congratulations!

Congratulations!  The Boys U13 Cottagers won the 2009 Hempfield Classic over the 11/21-22 weekend.  The team had two shut outs and a 2-1 victory in the preliminaries.  The team was guarenteed a spot in the finals after the first two games.  The Cottagers won the championship game 3-1.

 Congratulations! Titan's win Spirit United Kickoff Classic.   The CASA Titans won the Spirit United Kickoff Classic going unblemished during the August 15 & 16 weekend; four wins and no losses.  Coached by Charlie Johnson and Fred Grove, the Titans had a solid weekend, scoring 17 goals... as they beat teams from Canada, New York state, and Pennsylvania.  The Titans are trained and coached by Richard Chinapoo and Garfield DeSilva.  The champions are:  Bryce Amos, August Axtman, Matt Coakley, Jake Grove, Noah Johnson, Sam Johnson, Miles Mahlock, Jimmy Mosca, Jake Mullen, Hassan Ndigejeje, Sean Orlando, Braydon Parr, DJ Reider, Andrew Schrock, and Zach St. Clair.

Congratulations! Titans win Redland Summer Classic.  The CASA Titans won the 21st annual Redland Summer Classic during the August 8 & 9th weekend.  The Titan's were firing on all cylinders under the guidance of Coach Garfield DeSilva and Charlie Johnson. They won all four games outscoring their opponents 27 - 1 during the weekend.  The Titan's are back in action again this coming weekend at teh Spirit United Kickoff Classic in Downingtown, PA.  The player's are: Bryce Amos, August Axtman, Robert Falconer, Jake Grove, Dax Hoffman, Noah Johnson, Sam Johnson, Miles Mahlock, Jimmy Mosca,  Jake Mullen, Hassan Ndigejeje, Sean Orlando, DJ Reider, Andrew Schrock, and Zach St. Clair. 

Congratulations!  Titans are East Coast Cup Champions. The Titans were crowned East Coast Cup Champions in June - going undefeated for the weekend.  The Titans are now ranked #30 in the Nation at U11 at nationalsoccerranking.com and #7 in the NE region.  The Titans are;  Bryce Amos, August Axtman, Jake Grove, Robert Falconer, Ethan Herstek, Dax Hoffman, Noah Johnson, Sam Johnson, Jimmy Mosca, Jake Mullen, Hassan Ndigejeje, Sean Orlando, Andrew Schrock, Nate Smithers, Zach St Clair

Congratulations! Titans Finalists at FC Delco.  The Titans fell just short of their goal and were Finalists at the 2009 FC Delco Premier Division over the Memorial Day holiday.  They suffered their only loss in the championship game.  FC Delco is ranked as teh #8 tournament by gotsoccer.com

 

Congratulations! CAPA 93 Black earned 2nd place in the SYA Cardinal Cup August 15-16, 2009.  Their first game against ASA Alrington Generals ended in a tough 1-1 tie.   In their second scorcher on the turf field the boys overpowered McLean MPS Celtic Green (VA) 4-1.  Sunday morning, the boys defeated Prince William Courage Red '93 (VA) by a score of 2-1 to earn them a spot in the championship. The team faced a tough home team (SYA Nova) in the final.  The boys fought hard, but were ultimately defeated by a score of 2-4.  Participating players include: Luke Bunting, Alex Caplan, Cory Dohner, Thomas Fry, Joey Funck, Lucas Goodrow, Dylan Herzer, Nathan Hill, Andrew Kimmel, Reed Kimmel, Tyler McFarland, Jacob Oldaker, Bryan Mullen, Spencer Petersheim, Greg Rubbo, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, and Drew Whittle. Congratulations!  CAPA 93 Black competed in the 34th Annual Virginian Soccer Tournament May 23-25, 2009.  The boys defeated PA Rush Nike (PAE) 5-1 in their first game Saturday afternoon.  In their second scorcher on the turf field the boys overpowered AC Norfolk Klinsmann (VA) 1-0.  Sunday afternoon the boys crushed LMVSC Patriots (VA) by a score of 3-0.  Going into the final regular scheduled game Sunday afternoon the boys only needed a tie to move on to the championship on Monday.  The team rallied and came out victorious defeating East Windsor PAL Fire (NJ) by a score of 1-0.  The final took place Monday morning against ACFC Manchester United (PAE).  Teamwork and training allowed them to easily out-play and be victorious over a strong Manchester United team by a score of 4-1.  Participating players include: Luke Bunting, Alex Caplan, Dylan Herzer, Nathan Hill, Andrew Kimmel, Reed Kimmel, Zachary Klein, Tyler McFarland, Bryan Mullen, Greg Rubbo, Patrick Schuyler, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Hunter Wenklar and Drew Whittle. Congratulations! CAPA 93 Black competed in EPYSA's Aspiring Champions Indoor Cup January 17, 2009 at Riverfront Sports in Scranton.  The boys defeated NPAA, Plymouth SC and West Mont but lost a tough game to HMMS (5-4) in regular bracket play.  They earned a wild card slot to the semi finals and defeated NPAA a second time (3-1).  The lost (3-1) a hard fought game to HMMS in the final to earn 2nd overall.  Participating players include: BJ Boyer, Luke Bunting, Dylan Herzer, Nathan Hill, Andrew Kimmel, Reed Kimmel, Zachary Klein, Tyler McFarland, Bryan Mullen, Greg Rubbo, Patrick Schuyler, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Hunter Wenklar and Drew Whittle. 2008 - CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Congratulations! CASA's own Richard Chinapoo was selected to the Division 1 Men's Soccer 50th Anniversary team on October 23, 2008.  A list of more than 100 student-athletes and 10 head coaches was narrowed down to 32 and six, respectively, through a voting subcommittee. The finalists were then put on an online ballot and voted on by public through NCAA.com. 

The 11 student-athletes who make up the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer 50th Anniversary team are: Jeff Agoos, Virginia; Armando Betancourt, Indiana; Paul Caligiuri, UCLA; Richard Chinapoo, Long Island; Angelo DiBernardo, Indiana; Brad Friedel, UCLA; John Harkes, Virginia; Glenn Myernick, Hartwick; Farrukh Quraishi, SUNY Oneonta; Claudio Reyna, Virginia; and Al Trost, Saint Louis. The NCAA Division I Men's Soccer 50th Anniversary coach is Indiana's Jerry Yeagley.

 Congratulations!  CAPA 95 Boys played in the biting cold, driving snow squalls and fields covered in snow to win the 2008 Hempfield Fall Classic. CAPA 95 opened play with a 5-0 win over the Boyertown Bears followed by a 3-1 win over Chestnut Hill Blue Lightning.  Sunday morning the boys defeated Abingdon Galaxy 2-0 to clinch a spot in the final where they defeated Phoenixville Yellow Jackets 1-0 to win the U-13A2 Championship.  Participating players included: Pierce Apgar, Dawson Arnold, Tim Callahan, Bryan Cleary, Mitch Coakley, Josh Donahue, John Lopez, Joshua Ly, Matt Porter, Robbie Rogal, Tory Spangenberg, Matt Stewart, Tristan Wali and Liam Walsh.  CAPA 95 Boys are trained and coached by Larry Julius.

Congratulations! CAPA 93 Black competed in the 23rd Annual Hempfield Fall Classic Tournament November 22-23, 2008.  The boys faced a group of very talented teams in the Premier bracket. On Saturday, they defeated ACFC Manchester United (1-0) in the snow.  In their second game Saturday, they beat Lower Dauphin United FC Orange (2-0).  On Sunday morning, the boys tied Delaware’s Concord Titans (1-1) but were already guaranteed a spot in the championship game. In the championship match Sunday afternoon, CAPA faced the Smithtown Kickers Sonic from New York. Despite dominating the game, the boys couldn’t put one in the net. The game went to penalty kicks and CAPA lost on the final PK by a score of 3-2.   Participating players include: Colton Arnold, BJ Boyer, Luke Bunting, Alex Caplan, Dylan Herzer, Andrew Kimmel, Reed Kimmel, Zachary Klein, Tyler McFarland, Bryan Mullen, Greg Rubbo, Patrick Schuyler, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Hunter Wenklar and Drew Whittle. The team is coached and trained by Richard Chinapoo. (11/25/08) 

Congratulations to the CASA U11 Boys Blue Thunder for a fantastic fall season. The Blue Thunder ended their fall season undefeated. With a ball controlling 3–0 win over a tough HMMS team on November 1st, the Blue Thunder finished their CPYSL U11 White division with a 6-2-0 record and 20 points to capture first place. During the fall season the Blue Thunder led the league with 42 goals scored while giving up a league low 7 goals. The Blue Thunder also competed in and captured the Championship in the Columbus Day Whitewater Cup tournament. The team played a tough first game against a team from New Jersey and hung on for a 4–4 tie. Our next game was against a very physical Fort Dix New York team. After trailing 2–1 early in the second half the Blue Thunder came on strong the last 20 minutes to pull out a 2–2 tie. The final game was against a team from Allentown. Blue Thunder came out strong and took a 2–0 lead into half time. The team continued to play hard throughout the second half and finished the game with a 3–2 victory which gave us five points and first place in the tournament. The CASA U11 Boys Blue Thunder has 12 returning players from last year’s U10 team and one new player. Our returning players are Bryce Amos, Faby Berrun, Nick Bloom, Josh Bowman, Spencer Davis, Damien Koussis, Mickey Lopez, Mikey Lowinski, Ronnie Scheaffer, Kenny Sheckard, Diego Torres and Joey Zeplin. This year’s new player is Nicholas Gigliotti. The Blue Thunder is coached by Mike Lowinski, Greg Bowman and Brian Bloom and is trained by Garfield DeSilva.

Congratulations Sharks (U13 Girls)! After winning the top seed in the Championship bracket with an unscored upon record of 3-0, the Sharks promptly lost in a shootout to the #8 seeded North Carroll Thunder. This loss put the Sharks in the losers bracket and an 8:00 AM Sunday game with Waynesboro United. A tough battle was fought and the Sharks slipped through to the next round on an own goal from Waynesboro. Up next for a High Noon start was the teams arch-nemesis and the Dillsbrug Extreme. Playing tough the Sharks prevailed with a solid 2-0 win and a trip to the 3:00 quarterfinals against another familar foe, the Carlisle Galaxy. With both teams sporting injuries the Sharks battled through for a hard fought 3-1 win. This put the Sharks into the Semi-finals which started immediately following a quick change of jerseys and some water. The oponent was the Quakertown Fireballs. After falling behind early the Sharks took control in the second half and won 2-1 for a berth in the finals. Now the Sharks were hungry and no longer tired. They came out hot and on fire posting a 4-0 victory and avenging the opening round los to the same North Carroll Thunder team and the tournament championship.

Congratulations!  The CASA Blast! U12 Girls team won their first tournament championship at the Dillsburg Dual Shootout. After getting off to a sluggish start in the qualifying round, the Blast! girls proceeded to win their first game in the championship round with a 1-0 shootout win over the West Shore Shockers. That was followed by a hard-fought 1-0 win in regulation time over the SMSA Blast. The next game against the Northwestern Tigers ended regulation in a 0-0 draw. The ensuing shootout did not go in favor of the Blast! and the Tigers prevailed (1-0). Disappointed, but determined to succeed, the girls rallied in the next game to beat the Wildcats 2-0 to earn the right to play for the bracket championship against the same Northwestern Tigers team that handed them a loss earlier that same day. Having only moments to rest following the win over the Wildcats - the Blast! girls took the field and control of the game and handed the Tigers a 1-0 loss in regulation time to take home the first place trophy. It was truly an incredible team effort. Members of the team able to participate include: Mackenzie Sprague, Maggie Smith, BrieAnna Seibert, Johnae Robinson, Victoria Marrero, Lilyann Nguyen, Sun-Ah Kim, Mariah Kanagy, Destiny Gule, Meghan Hoffman, Gabrielle Flamm, Emma (Lou) Dougherty, Sarah Davis, and Hannah Walter. The team is coached and trained by Scott Walter with assistance from Randy Flamm and Jerry Kanagy. (15Oct)

Congratulations! The CASA Blast, the U-9 Division I Girls team, had an impressive debut August 16-17 at the Whitewater Cup Tournament in Luzerne. The girls opened with a strong win over the Pink Panthers from Mountain Top.  They followed with another win over the Cannons from Lewisburg.  For the final game, they met the Penn Legacy team from Lititz who also had a 2-0 record for the day. Holding the U-10 Penn Legacy team scoreless until the last two minutes of the game, the girls demonstrated their strength, agility, and great team play. Congratulations to the Blast on the first of many successes!

Congratulations! CAPA 93 Black competed in the 20th Annual West Chester Summer Classic Tournament August 2-3, 2008.  The boys faced tough competition throughout the tournament.  On Saturday, they defeated Soccer Domain '93 (5-2).  In their second game Saturday, they beat Spirit United Strikers (1-0).  On Sunday, they earned a definitive win against Buckingham Blizzards (5-1).  They faced a tough West Chester Predator's team in final game on Sunday.  At the end of regulation play, the score was tied at 1-1.  Neither team scored in two five minute sudden death overtime periods sending the match into PK's.  CAPA lost on the final PK by a score of 3-2 to a worthy opponent taking home 2nd place in the Championship bracket.  Participating players include: Colton Arnold, BJ Boyer, Luke Bunting, Alex Caplan, Dylan Herzer, Andrew Kimmel, Zachary Klein, Tyler McFarland, Greg Rubbo, Patrick Schuyler, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky and Drew Whittle. Congratulations! The CASA Angels began their season at U-12 by competing in the Spirit Kick-Off Classic held August 23-24. Playing in the GOLD division, the Angels began the tournament preliminary round by facing the West Chester United FC Eagles and winning by a convincing 3-0 margin. Game 2 against Upper Chesapeake United proved to be a bit more difficult, but the Angels were not willing to yield and earned a hard fought 1-0 win. The last game of the preliminary round found the Angels in first place in their bracket, but still needing at least a tie to make it to the championship game. Standing in their way was the YMS Panthers, who happened to be in second place in the same bracket. With grit and determination, the Angels scored one goal and held strong defensively to secure their berth in the finals against the Vincent United FC Pride. Both teams came into the tournament championship game undefeated. The momentum of the game was back and forth with some exciting scoring opportunities for both teams. At half-time, the score was deadlocked at 0-0. Early in the second half, the Angels struck for a goal then turned up the intensity defensively to hold on for a well deserved 1-0 win and the tournament championship. The team finished the tournament in the GOLD division as the only undefeated team and only team to shut out every team that they faced. The team is coached by Dennis Mahaffey with assistance by Tim Kelley and Jack Wenrich, and coached/trained by Larry Julius.Congratulations!

Congratulations! The Central Dauphin Lady Rams won their second PIAA State Championship in two years, and there is a definite CASA link in this journey. With Current and past CASA soccer players contributing to the team effort put forth the Rams are on a roll. Having already captured the 2007 State Championship, the 2008 District III gold, the Lady Rams were the number one seed in this Spring's PIAA tournament, as they won their second consecutive PIAA Spring State Girls Champiosnhip in Soccer.

Congratulations!  The CASA Angels finished out their Spring 2008 U-11 season by competing in the Susquehanna Cup Invitational Tournament held June 7-8, and the Hershey Kicks 4 Kids Invitational Tournament held June 14-15. On an unusually hot and humid weekend, the Angels began their Susquehanna tournament with a dominating 7-1 win over the Susquehanna Blaze. The next preliminary round game was against the Palmyra CPYSC Mustangs where the Angels prevailed with a 3-0 score. Game 3 of the preliminary round proved to be challenging with the Angels outlasting the Redland Storm for a 1-0 win. With 3 wins in hand, the Angels earned a spot in the championship game where they faced the Susquehanna Blaze for the second time in the tournament. The Angels were up for the challenge and won the championship game by a convincing 4-0, remaining undefeated during the tournament while scoring 15 goals and only allowing one goal. The last tournament of their season, the Hershey Kicks 4 Kids Invitational, was played under much more tolerable weather conditions. First up was the CRUSA Lightning from Richboro, PA where the Angels won by a solid 3-0 score. The second game of the tournament was against the Twin County Liberty from Brick, NJ. Again the Angels came out victorious with a dominating 7-1 win. Game 3 saw the Angels face a spirited Howell United Dynamite from Howell, NJ in a semi-final game and earn a bid to the championship by winning by a 2-0 margin. The CRUSA Lightning was back again as the Angels? opponent in the championship game. The Angels closed out their tournament with a 3-1 victory in a fast-paced game on the indoor field at In The Net. Finishing with 15 goals and only allowing two goals against, the Angels had a combined 30 goals for and only 3 goals against in the 8 games played in both of the tournaments while remaining undefeated. Participating players included: Makenna B., Chloe D., Kali E., Sydney H., Abby J., Krissy K., Anne L., Alex L., Ashley M., Christina P., Shayna P., Marisa (MJ) P., Olivia S., Janelle S., Courtney T., Kayla T., Monica V., and Gretchen W. Congratulations! The CAPA 93 Black team captured 1st place in the 29th Annual Lehigh Valley Soccer Tournament June 14-15, 2008.  CAPA tied their first game on Saturday against ACFC Manchester United (2-2).  In the second game Saturday, CAPA earned a definitive win against Lehigh Valley SC '93 (4-1),  On Sunday, the boys defeated South Jersey Select (1-0) and Montgomery United (1-0).  Participating players include: Colton Arnold, BJ Boyer, Alex Caplan, Dylan Herzer, Andrew Kimmel, Zachary Klein, Tyler McFarland, Bryan Mullen, Austin Pfeiffer, Greg Rubbo, Patrick Schuyler, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Hunter Wenklar and Drew Whittle. Congratulations! The CAPA 93 Black team captured 1st place in the Jersey Shore Champions Cup June 7-8, 2008.  CAPA triumphed over Battle of Monmouth Sharks (6-1), Jersey Crew Tornadoes (3-1) and Westfield Turbine (3-0) in regular play.  The team went on to face EW Pal Fire in the final.  The other team scored quickly and CAPA was behind 0-1 at the half.  They came back on the field ready to play despite the 100 degree temperatures and scored two unanswered goals to win the final (2-1).  Participating players include: BJ Boyer, Alex Caplan, Dylan Herzer, Stephen Haverstick, Andrew Kimmel, Reed Kimmel, Tyler McFarland, Bryan Mullen, Austin Pfeiffer, Greg Rubbo, Patrick Schuyler, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Hunter Wenklar and Drew Whittle. CONGRATULATIONS!  The CASA Sharks recently completed an undefeated championship season at Sports City. The Sharks played in a tough bracket of U12 and U13 teams in going the distance undefeated. Although the Sharks are especially proud of the defensive effort they put together in only allowing 39 points and 2 shutouts, they were equally impressive on the offensive side of the ball scoring over 130 points. Playing for the sharks are Marissa Augustine, Shannon Bolton, Haley Burkholder, Gabbie Feaser, Allie Hoffman, Ashley Kindig, Kayla Kelly, Kelsey Kunisky, Ava Lutz, Caitlyn Mann, Kaitlyn McDonnell, Somer Meadath, Mikaela Paris, Lauren Purcell, Creslyn Van Dyck. Congratulations!  The CASA Angels took 2nd place for U-11 Girls, at theEPYSA Aspiring Champions Indoor State Cups held March 8, 2008. The team began their Cup tournament with a 1-0 victory against a spirited York Premier team. The Angels played their second game against a Philadelphia Soccer Club team, dominating the match with a 4-0 final score. Closing out the final game of the preliminary round, the Angels faced a tough Boyertown squad where the game went scoreless until late and the Angels held on for a 1-0 victory. Through the preliminary round, the Angels keepers held the opponents scoreless, stopping many great shots. The undefeated round ensured the Angels a spot in the semi-finals; Marple Newtown was the next opponent in the semi-finals. This game was tied at 1-1 in regulation. A five (5) minute Sudden Death overtime period concluded with no additional scoring. The match finished with a three (3) shot shootout that included a thrilling victory with one (1) goal scored by the Angels and no goals scored by the opposing team, earning the Angels a berth in the championship game. Unfortunately, the Angels came up short in the championship game with a defeat to the Philadelphia Soccer Club Spurs (4-0), finishing the tournament with a 4-1-0 record. Congratulations! The CAPA 93 Black team captured 2nd place in the EPYSA Aspiring Champions Indoor Cup.  CAPA triumphed over FC America (6-0), Lighthouse Hurricanes (8-2) and CRUSA FC Bucks United (2-1) in regular play.  The team went on to face Montgomery United SC in the semi final.  CAPA was behind 0-2 about 1/2 way through the game but fought back to tie the score 2-2 by the end of regulation play.  The score was still tied 2-2 after a 5 minute sudden death overtime period.  CAPA came out on top after a set of 3 penalty kicks defeating Montgomery 3-2.  The boys lost the final game to a very talented Philadelphia SC Coppa 93 team (7-3).  Participating players include: BJ Boyer, Alex Caplan, Stephen Haverstick, Andrew Kimmel, Tyler McFarland, Bryan Mullen, Austin Pfeiffer, Troy Ridgley, Greg Rubbo, Patrick Schuyler, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Hunter Wenklar and Drew Whittle. Congratulations! The CASA FC Titans (U10 Boys Div. I) have been invited to participate in the prestigious Jefferson Cup soccer tournament. The Jefferson Cup is held on March 15-16 in Richmond, Virginia. The tournament is ranked second in the nation for boys premier soccer. The Richmond Strikers soccer club hosts the tournament. The Jefferson Cup is an Invitational Only Tournament. Only 600 teams from across North America are accepted into the tournament. Over 500 teams are turned down each year. Last year the tournament featured over 150state champions, 50 regional champions and 5 national champions.The Titans were formed as a CASA U9 Division II team as 8 year olds in 2005. The Titans have experienced a lot of success at a young age. This season the Titans placed 2nd in the Twin Valley Summer Classic. In the Spirit United Kick-Off Classic, the 11th ranked tournament nationally, the Titans lost in the semi- final of the Premier Division. In October, the Titans won 2 games and lost 1 in the YMS Columbus Day tournament. This is the 7th ranked tournament nationally. The Titans just completed their first indoor session at Sports City where they finished 2nd place in the U11/12(playing up 2 yrs) age group. Members of the FC Titans are: Noah Johnson, Zach St.Clair, Jacob Grove, August Axtman, Hassan Ndigejeje, Ethan Herstek, Niko Zervanos, Dax Hoffman, Jimmy Mosca, Jacob Mullen, Nathan Smithers, Zach Hoffman, and Sean Orlando. Congratulations! The CASA 89 U-18 Boys team won the 2007 Fall Hempfield tournament with a record of 3 wins and 1 tie. This team also won the first indoor session at Sports City, going 8-0, along with being finalist in the EPYSA State Indoor Cups B level. The team played very well while going undefeated, finishing with a record of 7 wins and 1 tie. Congratulations:  The CASA CAPA 93 Blue team recently competed in the Leagues United Indoor State Cups and advanced to the quarter finals after going 2-1 in the qualification rounds. The boys played well and fought hard in their quarter final, but lost to Super Nova 3-2. It was a strong showing for this recently formed team. In December, this U14 team competed in the NCIS Regional Tournament at Sports City where they placed 2nd in the U15 division and qualified for the National Indoor Tournament in March. CASA CAPA 93 Blue competed in the 1st session at Lanco Fieldhouse and are participating in a Futsal league for 2nd session. Congratulations!  CASA-CAPA 93 Black wins the Leagues United Indoor State Cup Championship!  In pool play, the team went 3-0, with wins over Brandywine (5-0), FC Bucks (2-1), and West Chester Sting (4-3).  The team then defeated a tough West Chester Predators team in the quarterfinal (2-1).  The boys triumphed over Super Nova (3-2) in the semi-final to secure their spot in the final.  The team defeated Del Val (5-1) in the final to capture 1st place out of 18 teams.  Participating players include: Alex Caplan, James Daly, Stephen Haverstick, Andrew Kimmel, Tyler McFarland, Bryan Mullen, Austin Pfeiffer, Matt Pugliese, Troy Ridgley, Greg Rubbo, Patrick Schuyler, Tyler Smith, Kevin Virbitsky, Hunter Wenklar and Drew Whittle.
