The CASA Cheetahs, U10 Premier Girls team competed in Penn Legacy's Academy Cup on March 3rd. The girls started the day strong with a 1-1 tie against Hockessin Revolution. The Cheetah's goal scorer was Cassy B. The girls continued their attack by dominating Lower Merion Soccer Club with a shutout of 3-0 with two goals scored by Chloe A. and one by Cassy B. Next on the pitch the girls faced the SYA Cardinals 01 Red and the battle was tough. Again, the girls triumphed with a 2-1 victory with goals scored by Carson L. and Taylar L. Onto the Championship game the girls charged to face a tough Penn Legacy Black team. The battle was intense and the girls came up short with a 2-1 loss. The sole goal was scored by Chloe A. The CASA Cheetahs earned a well deserved place as Finalist in the Academy Cup. Congratulations to the CASA Cheetahs!
During the indoor season, the CASA Cheetahs participated in the U10-11 girls division at Twin Ponds West as they prepared for the Indoor State Cup. The Cheetahs’ skillful play was no match for their league competition as they handily defeated all seven of the opponents they faced.
The team also racked up the following honors across all of Twin Ponds’ indoor leagues: Top Offense for most goals scored by any team (88--which only includes those goals scored when the team won by 10 goals or less; 119 goals were scored overall), Most League Points (tied two other teams with 24 for a perfect season), and Top Defense, for allowing the fewest amount of goals (17) in their division.
Cheetah players participating in the indoor season included: Chloe A., Cassy B., Grace G. , Hannah G., Madeline H., Carson L., Taylar L., Jeena P. , Briana R., Lindsay S., and Allie S. The Cheetahs are coached by Nick Guarente and Tom Luckenbill.
On February 19th, the CASA Cheetahs traveled to Hatboro, PA to YSC Sports for the U-10 Girls Indoor State Cup. The Cheetahs dominated their bracket, shutting out Wyoming Valley 4-0 in game one and the Fusion Strikers 3-0 in game two, and beating the Hulmeville Dynamo 3-1 in game three. The only team to win all three of their bracket games, the Cheetahs earned a trip to the semi-final game for the second year in a row. The Cheetahs faced the FC Revolution Force in the semi-finals, and found them to be the better team that day, as they bested the Cheetahs 2-0 to advance.
